Early Childhood Intervention Program

The Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) provides early intervention services for children between birth and school entry who have disabilities and/or developments delays.  Our Early Childhood Intervention Coordinator and Workers partner with parents/caregivers and other professionals to provide optimum 1:1 support for each child enrolled in this program based on individual needs.

Our Early Childhood Intervention Workers (ECIW) usually assist the children in a preschool center chosen by the parents/guardians; however in certain situation sessions may take place in an alternate location such as the child’s home, day home, etc.

Referral to the Early Childhood Intervention Program may be made by the child’s parents/guardians, physician or other concerned individuals; but can only be done with parent/guardian permission.

During early intervention sessions our qualified Early Childhood Intervention Workers provide stimulating activities tailored to meeting the needs of each child.

The Early Childhood Intervention Program is generously funded by the GNWT Healthy Children Initiative, YHSSA and other organizations, agencies and/or persons.
